26 Oct HopCat’s Morning Wood & Wild Fest Will Celebrate the World’s Biggest and Best Ales
Annual beer fest offers 25 specialty taps & brunch all day
HopCat – Broad Ripple is gearing up for Morning Wood & Wild 2018: A Barrel Aged, Sour & Wild Beer & Brunch Fest, an annual celebration of the world’s biggest, rarest and best ales. The party happens all day Sunday, November 4th, starting at 10 a.m.
For this event, HopCat turns its beer experts loose and challenges them to track down the boldest, most unique brews they can find. HopCat – Broad Ripple, located at 6280 N. College Ave., will dedicate 25 of its taps to barrel-aged behemoths, flavorful sours and complex wild ales. There will be something for every level of beer nerdery, from the barrel-aged superfan to the newcomer who is curious about craft beer but isn’t sure where to start.
“These are the kind of hard-to-find beers that you often have to stand in line for hours at a brewery just to taste,” said Adam Roberts, HopCat’s Regional Beverage Program Manager. “The best part of the festival is being able to try many of the special releases and rarities from the entire year, all in one place at the same time.”
Evan Boyd, Beer Program Lead at HopCat – Broad Ripple, has curated a tap list that includes gems such as:
– Sun King Brewery’s Cinnamon Sixes Whiskey Barrel-Aged Belgian-Style Porter with cinnamon (13.6% ABV)
– RedStone Brewery’s BBA Black Raspberry Nectar, a barrel-aged mead with black raspberry (8%)
– Avery Brewing Co.’s Plank’d Rum BA American Imperial Porter with coconut (16.2%)
– Upland Brewing Co.’s Blueberry BA Belgian-Style Sour Ale (6%)
This year HopCat is adding a “morning” theme, serving brunch all day and encouraging guests to wear their pajamas. HopCat will have a limited number of custom-designed mugs that will be available first-come, first-served to early-bird guests.
