Having been in the works for several months, 2Toms Brewing announced on February 2nd that they will be opening a taproom/restaurant in the space previous held by Redemption Alewerks at 7035 E. 96th Street. The buildout begins this month, and they are hoping to have the location open in a May/June time frame. The build out will box in the former brewhouse for storage and the draft system will be reworked for better design and ease of use, but the iconic, horse-shoe shaped bar will be retained.

Owner Tom Carpenter had been scouting locations in central Indiana since the second quarter of 2021, with sites in Westfield, Fishers, and Lawrence under consideration. The 96th Street space was visited in late 2021, and soon became the front runner. The location and amenities were appealing, and 2Toms was pleased with the size and layout of the kitchen. The new space will be family friendly, but since food will be prepared on site, animals would only be permitted on a patio space in front.

A local food concern will be operating in the 2Toms kitchen, bot for food on site, and for catering at several other locations. The chef and the owner of the local group have much experience in making and serving food to go with craft beer, and the chef is Michelin star rated. The concept and name will be released in the next week or two, so look for more information to come in short order.

From the time it opened in 2017, 2Toms Brewing has focused on many styles of beer, from the Other Tom series, to a fruited series, and of course their Dark Necessity stouts. At first, they worked with food trucks at their North Fort Wayne location, then a permanent food truck relationship with Full Circle Grill & BBQ, and in the last year, an in-house kitchen for Full Circle. There was a substantial expansion of the brewhouse for increased production, and then in 2021, 2Toms opened their expanded seating/event/space/barrel-aged beer aging facility called The Barrel Room.

The Indianapolis location will carry all the 2Toms beers and series discussed above, and will also be worked into the newest 2Toms offering – the 2Toms Meadery. In all, there will be plenty of offerings for all kinds of craft fans.

2Toms Brewing Company Announces Indianapolis Location

2Toms Brewing Company to Open 2nd Location in Indy

Indianapolis, IN— 2/2/22 — Today 2Toms Brewing Company officially announces the opening of a second location in Indianapolis. The company will begin renovating a 3840 sq. ft. space, located at 7035 E. 96th Street, this month with the hopes to open late spring/early summer. This new taproom will serve food, be family friendly and will feature a full line of 2Toms Brewing Co. beer on tap and eventually 2Toms Meadery options.

“We are extremely excited about this opportunity and hope to replicate the unique customer experience found at our current Fort Wayne location,” said Tom Carpenter, Owner/Brewer. “The plan is to include many of the open concept features and décor but also create an identity unique to Indianapolis.”

While the space does have a current brewery space, the company does not intend to brew at the location out of the gate. “The old brewery space is small and could fit a small 3BBL pilot system, however our focus will be on expanding production in Fort Wayne and perhaps consider specialty batches in Indianapolis down the road.”
