RiverRoots Music & folk arts festival to host 3rd annual home brew competition

The 3rd annual RiverRoots brew-off is a fun competition open to all home-brewers. The competition is restricted to non-commercial home-brewed beer. The 2014 Style is:  Light Hybrid Beer. Beers judged according to BJCP Style Guidelines.

Four categories: 
6A-Cream Ale
6B-Blonde Ale
6C-Kolsch
6-D-American Wheat or Rye Beer.
Awards given in each of listed categories and for best of show.

ENTRY REQUIRMENTS:
Each entry for the competition should consist of two brown bottles with no paper or ink labels. We recommend that bottles be 12 or 16 oz, but will accept 22 oz. Any lettering or graphics on the caps should be completely obscured with blank ink. Traditional “longneck” style bottles are encouraged, while bottles with Grolsch-type swing tops and unusually shaped bottles are not allowed. All bottles must be clean and with properly completed entry label attached by a rubber band. Do not tape or glue on bottle labels. One entry per category per entrant. Entrant can be individual or a team up to three members.

ENTRY LABELS:
Plain white 5″X7″ sheet of paper with the following information: Name:Phone Number:Email:Number/Category:Detailed information will help judges more accurately score your beer.Optional information:Original gravity-Finish gravity,  Alc. By Volume%,  I.B.Us.
Entry Fee:  The entry fee is $5.00 for each entry. Checks payable to RiverRoots Brew-Off.

PACKING INSTRUCTIONS:
If you must ship your entries, we recommend that you allow 2″ of packing materials between the borders of the box you use to ship your beer and any beer you enclose within. Fill with packing material.  Wrapping with bubble wrap may also be helpful. Line box with plastic garbage  bag and seal the bag. Do not use the US MAIL- it is illegal. UPS will accept your package, but not if it is labeled “beer”.  You may want to label it “Yeast Samples” or “kitchen supplies” or simply ” Fragile”
