One Can Dream: What’s Your Dream Six Pack Of Beer?

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.”

I’m sure you are too.

So for the sake of shits and grins let’s imagine this: you walk into your favorite bottle shop and for one day only, this day, every American made craft beer is at your disposal. You, my friend, have the opportunity to assemble your dream 6-pack.

In the profound words of Keanu Reeves, “What do you do?” (Ed. note: I would have gone with, “Whoa”)

Here is my dream 6-pack…

1. Julius – Tree House Brewing (Monson, MA)
An IPA bursting with 1.6 oz per gallon of American hops, Julius is loaded with notes of passion fruit, mango, and citrus.

2. Focal Banger – The Alchemist (Waterbury, VT)
Yes, I’d pick this IPA from The Alchemist over its highly touted brother Heady Topper. An American IPA, hopped judiciously with Citra and Mosaic

3. No Rules – Perrin Brewing (Comstock Park, MI)
An American porter with intense cinnamon flavor that shifts onto milk chocolate, coconut, tons of vanilla, and oak drying.

4. Sexual Chocolate – Foothills Brewing (Winston-Salem, NC)
This Russian Imperial Stout is a provocative elixir that pours shadow black with strong notes of chocolate. Subtle hints of cherry, bourbon, and coffee make this a highly sought after brew.

5. Sip of Sunshine – Lawson’s Finest Liquids (Startford, CT)
This lupulin-laden India Pale Ale is packed with juicy tropical fruit character, bright floral aromas and delectable layers of hop flavor. Pour mindfully, inhale deeply and enjoy a tropical vacation in a glass.

6. Crooked Stave – Surette Provision Saison (Denver, CO)
This is a beer that will keep you going back for another sip, finishing dry with just enough fruit up front to wet your palate before the tart vinegar mid-palate and clean with a slightly funky brett finish.

Please note: If Scarlet Lane bottled or canned Dorian Coconut, then you bet your ass that I’d have that in there.

There you have it.

Remember, these are my choices. I fully expect your list to differ. Hell, I’m sure, depending on the day or time of year, that my list would be different. After all, there are a lot of beers out there with a range of styles and palates. .

But…if today be the day where my dreams come true, the above list would just have to do.
The rhyme was intentional.

Until next time, this is where I leave you.
