July 1st was a BIG day at Sun King!
We brewed our very first batch of beer, award winning Johan the Barleywine, on that date.
We celebrated our 6th anniversary at our downtown Indianapolis brewery location.
We opened the doors to the new Sun King Fishers Tap Room and Small-Batch Brewery and we celebrated SB297 becoming a law along with our efforts with the Support Indiana Brewers campaign.
We could not have done it without YOU! Thank you friends, fans, family, and craft beer lovers and cheers to 6 years of Fresh•Local•Beer.
The US Open Beer Championship results came in over the holiday weekend and Sun King was awarded a few medals!
Gold – Osiris Pale Ale
Silver – Indiana Lager
Silver – Cherry Busey (Judge’s Award for Top Ten Most Creative Names)
Bronze – Sunlight Cream Ale

The Official Beer of Gen Con is being CANNED!
Big things are happening with the Sun King • Gen Con 2015 partnership. For the first time in 4 years of partnership, the 2015 Official Beer of Gen Con, Drink On and Prosper will be available in commemorative collectable cans!
Cans will be available starting July 20th at the brewery and in various retail locations. They will also be available at the Sun King Beer Garden on Georgia Street (while supplies last).
• SKB and Gen Con will “Unofficially” kick-off the Best Four Days In Gaming on Wednesday, July 29th 6pm - 10pm - join Sun King for a very special, never before, CAN release and tapping party of Drink On and Prosper, the Official Beer of Gen Con 2015. A very limited tapping of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Froth of Kahn (Official Beer of Gen Con 2014) will be released during the party. Live music begins at 6pm with bands Double Clicks and Hero Jr.
• NEW! Sun King Game Night will take place on Thursday July 30th 6pm - 10pm in the Sun King Beer Garden located on Georgia Street.
Games included:
D20 Rolling Contest – Back by popular demand, the “D20” Dicing Rolling Contest. Sign up to participate during the Drink On and Prosper Tapping Party on 7/29. 64 contestants will battle it out to win prizes from Gen Con, Sun King, and more!
Jenga Giant - Challenge your friends to a friendly game of Jenga Giant, stacking over 3 ft. tall! Teams of two to play, a suggested donation will be collected to participate and will be donated to the Julian Center. Prizes to be awarded to winners.
Trouble with Tribbles – Don’t be a Borg Drone, come out on top like Kirk, in a strategic game of Trouble with Tribbles (BPONG). “Cups” made with re-purposed Sun King kegs, teams of two can combat it out on the Trouble with Tribbles “court”. Sink It and Prosper On…
Customizable Terrestrial Artifacts - Onsite screen printing with the SKB Crew. Get your shirt, backpack, or poster printed with the Drink On and Prosper, Official Beer of Gen Con 2015, can design! A suggested donation of $1 will be collected and donated to the Julian Center.

Sun King challenges you to help out with the Sun King Save Your Tabs Collection Challenge benefitting Ronald McDonald House of Indiana. We ask that you, our beloved fans, friends, and family, to help collect aluminum tabs. The tabs you collect can be of any aluminum tab variation, from a can of Fresh•Local•Beer, energy drink, soda, or canned water! Unite your friends, family, and co-workers on collecting as many tabs as you can for the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana and you will receive various Sun King prizes as your reward. |

20th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival:
The Indiana craft beer scene has grown a lot in the past two decades. To celebrate 20 years of Iocal craft beer, the festival, hosted by Brewers of Indiana Guild, is moving to Military Park, downtown Indianapolis. 100+ craft brewers will be attending the festival for you to sample from! Be one of the first to sample by purchasing Early Bird tickets (there are still a few left!) or purchase your general admission ticket at $40 or Designated Driver tickets at $10. Indy Film Fest – Brewer’s Brunch & BLOOD, SWEAT, AND BEERS!
When brunch, beer, and film collide! This Sunday, Indy Film Fest (July 16 - 25) will be screening BLOOD, SWEAT, AND BEER.
