evil czech brewery and public house celebrates grand opening

Mishawaka After about a year of anticipation, Evil Czech Brewery and Public House is officially open for business.

Construction started last April at the old Mishawaka Brewing Company. The building was completely gutted; one wall was left and everything else is brand new.

Tuesday marks the grand opening of the brewery and public house. This is the day they will be launching their new business hours. Now, they are open for lunch starting at 11 a.m. and dinner starting at 5 p.m.

They also have a late-night menu that starts after the kitchen closes. Sunday through Wednesday the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the kitchen stays open until 11 p.m.

These hours aren’t the only new thing this week. Starting Sunday, Evil Czech will be open for brunch starting at 10 a.m.

This restaurant is certainly kid friendly and has different types of food not found everywhere. General Manager Shawn Erickson says they make almost everything in house from scratch. He says they source local food, and of course their beer is locally brewed on site for everyone to see.

On top of all that, presentation is huge. They plate all of their food on pie tins or burger boxes, all going along with their industrial theme. What’s unique is that every serving vessel has been made by the owner.

Erickson says everything is priced reasonably, so people from all walks of life can stop in and enjoy a meal. He says people can have a beer and an entrée for $15 or $16.

Evil Czech is located near the corner of Edison Road and Main Street in Mishawaka. The exact address is 3703 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana.
