For Immediate Release

Deer Creek Brewery LLC is pleased to announce the opening of its new production brewery and tasting room in Noblesville, Indiana, with the tasting room portion targeted for an early October opening. Located adjacent to Noble Corner at 17661 Cumberland Road, the company has converted 13,185 SF of industrial space previously home to Indiana Cold Storage and Fred’s Frozen Foods into a fully equipped brewery and tasting room, including a 3,700 SF cold room, space for barrel-aging beer, and warehousing. The cozy tasting room will be open to the public for samples, pints and carryout, once all government inspections and approvals are complete. The production brewery will be fully operational near the end of October, once the new brewing equipment is in place and all permits issued.

Jeff Eaton, Owner/Brewer at Barley Island Brewing Company, established in 1999 in historic downtown Noblesville, has teamed up with Eric Smith for bringing Deer Creek Brewery into existence. New, larger tanks at Deer Creek will significantly expand capacity beyond what Barley Island could do, and although some of the larger brewery tanks and packaging equipment from Barley Island will move to Deer Creek, Eaton will still be able to brew at Barley Island as well as Deer Creek. “With the new company name and a much larger production space for Deer Creek Brewery we will be able to focus on obtaining draft business with bars & restaurants, add 16 oz cans to the product mix, as well as expand our bourbon barrel-aging & sour ale program,” said Jeff Eaton. “Year round and seasonal beers will be packaged in 16 oz 4-pack cans, while our imperial beers will be packaged in 12 oz 4-pack bottles”.

Another unique feature of the tasting room will be the ability for patrons to get a 32 oz carryout can filled with any of the beers on tap. These “crowlers” have proven to be very popular at a select few Indiana breweries. While no kitchen will be on-site, patrons will be able to order food for delivery from adjacent restaurants specializing in Mexican, Chinese & Sushi cuisine. Up to 6 outside events per year may be held, featuring a beer tent, live music, food trucks and special tappings.
Owner’s Jeff Eaton and Eric Smith worked together for nearly 15 years at Roche Diagnostics, with Jeff focusing on Global Marketing and Eric in Finance. Jeff left Roche in 2009 to focus on his brewery business, while Eric recently retired from Roche. “Jeff and I have talked about opening a production brewery for a couple years now, and everything seemed to come together earlier this year”, said Eric. “Jeff already has a good track record in brewing quality beer, and this gives us a chance to expand the distribution in both Indiana and Illinois”.

Deer Creek Brewery will have 4 year round beers: German-style Pils, American IPA, Red Cream Ale & Rye IPA, all available in 16 oz cans and draft. Many of the seasonal offerings like Oktoberfest, Java Stout & the Imperial Series have been brewed already by Eaton over the last several years. “The marketplace is getting crowded certainly but by doing some unique year round beers and rotating in seasonals, we believe we can establish & grow our brands” said Eaton. The Deer Creek offerings will be distributed in Indiana and Illinois beginning in the 4th quarter 2015.
