28 Jun Daredevil Brewing Serving Up Barbecue & Brews on July 2
Since opening in 2012, Daredevil Brewing Co. has fit in nicely with Speedway’s Main Street scene. Daredevil, along with Main Street neighbor Barbecue and Bourbon, are teaming up to throw Barbecue & Brews on Saturday, July 2. There will be food, live music, cornhole, and of course, Daredevil’s great selection of beer—some you can only get at the brewery.
I’ve known Michael Pearson, Daredevil’s Founder and Brewer, for quite awhile, and he’s doing a great brewing beer. Lift-Off IPA has been a favorite of mine since its inception. Rip Cord is a great DIPA. And for easy drinking, I’d recommend the Dunkel or the Vacation Kolsch. The Maibock is strong, yet sweet, and The Muse, a Belgian Strong Ale, was just tapped, so it will be ready for the weekend.
Marcia Buff, from Barbecue and Bourbon, will be serving food from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will feature beef brisket, pulled pork, and chicken sandwiches. Mac & cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw will be available as sides. A sandwich, side, and drink combo will be available for $15. As one of Main Streets longtime fixtures, Barbecue and Bourbon does Memphis barbecue just right.
With barbecue and good beer, fellowship should abound. Live music can be heard from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and will feature Joe Hess and the Wandering Cowboys and Bari Leigh. So if you are in town this weekend, come to Barbecue & Brews, and see what a hotspot Speedway’s Main Street has become.
