INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Cutters Brewing Company, which announced online Tuesday that it would cease operations immediately, owes more than $77,000 in sewage fees, I-Team 8 has confirmed.

Cutters, based in Avon, never sought to establish its own sewer line and instead relied upon a neighboring business for water and sewer services, according to Tom Bruns with Aqua Indiana, which serves the Hendricks County Regional Sewer District.

“We are very interested in sitting down with Cutters,” Bruns said by phone. “They have refused to seek a permit or pay applicable sewer fees. They’ve not been willing to sit down with us. We’re very open to try to resolve this.”

In a letter sent to Cutters in October, the county sewer district’s regional manager writes that the board chose to “back charge Cutters Brewery for discharges since May 2013 and to charge the stipulated capacity and interceptor fees, which should have been paid prior to making the connection for the new facility.”… CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY AT WISH TV
