09 Oct Cardinal Spirits Wins USA Today 10Best Distillery Awards for Vodka and Rum

Bloomington, Ind. — Cardinal Spirits, the craft distillery in Bloomington, Ind., has been named a USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Award winner in two categories: Best Craft Vodka Distillery and Best Craft Rum Distillery.
The achievement brings national attention to Cardinal Spirits’ highly-rated vodkas and rums, which are all fermented, distilled, and bottled on-site at its distillery in Bloomington, Ind., and distributed in 12 states and Washington D.C.
For the competition, USA Today tapped a panel of spirits experts to nominate 20 distilleries in each category, then asked readers to vote daily to determine the top 10 ranking. Cardinal Spirits placed #2 in the country for Best Craft Vodka Distillery and #4 in the country for Best Craft Rum Distillery.

“It’s a thrill to turn the spotlight on Indiana and the fantastic spirits we’re distilling here,” says Cardinal Spirits co-founder Jeff Wuslich. “Our fantastic spirits earned us the nomination for these awards, but we owe this win to our fans and their daily votes. Cardinal Spirits distills two vodkas: its signature grape-based vodka is one of the highest-rated craft vodkas in the country, with 93 points from Wine Enthusiast. Its second vodka, Pride Vodka, is a special bottling of its signature vodka, and Cardinal Spirits donates 10% of proceeds from each bottle to LGBTQ organizations.
Meanwhile, the distillery makes two innovative rums: Tiki Rum, a light rum made from cane juice, light molasses, and deliciously fruity yeast, is one of the highest-rated craft rums in the country, with 92 points and a “Best Buy” rating from Wine Enthusiast. Lake House Spiced Rum is a spice-forward, dry spirit with citrus and subtle vanilla, crafted on a base of Tiki Rum.
