A Taste of What’s to Expect at the 2015 Blue Chip Brewfest

The annual Blue Chip Brewfest is in a few weeks, and that means that for one special day brews will abound in one awesome space. We’ll be heading to the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel and Spa to cover the event in April, but before we do, let me tell you what Lady Lifer Jenny Craig and I did to give you a sneak peak of what guests can expect from the 2015 Blue Chip Brewfest.

We headed to William B.’s Steakhouse for a media preview for the Blue Chip Brewfest. 12 breweries set up shop in the restaurant, showing off their wares for us media folks so we could do a “taste and tell”.

Breweries in house were: 18th Street Brewery, The Boston Beer Company, Burn ‘Em Brewing, Chapman’s Brewing Company, Drewry’s Brewing Company,Figure Eight Brewing, Flat 12 Bierwerks, Hunter’s Brewing, Merchant Du Vin Corp., Shoreline Brewery, Triton Brewing Company, and Twisted K-8 Brewing.

Each brewery had multiple beers available for sampling and the kitchen staff at the Blue Chip created small bites that were paired with the different beers. We got to try delicious pairings like Twisted K-8’s Jackelope IPA with jalapeno poppers, Drewry’s Lager Beer with blackened swai fish tacos with avocado ranch sauce, and 18th Street’s Hunter Cherry Double Milk Stout with crab salad filled artichokes with lime vinaigrette. It was a wonderful way to show off the versatility of the beers, give the Blue Chip chefs a creative outlet, as well as provide a great way for the brewers to commiserate with like-minded individuals in an intimate and professional setting that only the Blue Chip can offer... CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY AT PORTAGELIFE
