Every day we’re presented with more evidence of how many craft beer fans are out there, but this is just ridiculous. When Portland-based growler company GrowlerWerks launchedtheir Kickstarter project on Oct. 15, their goal was $75,000. After 24 hours, they’d raised $77,614.
The total currently stands at more than $387,000 from nearly 3,000 backers, who continue to queue up to be one of the first people to get their hands on a first-run uKeg, the company’s new pressurized growler. It’s a fairly unprecedented amount of money for a beer company to generate through crowdfunding, particularly because GrowlerWeks aren’t actually brewing beer.
