Successful economic growth and stability in the 21st century is becoming increasingly linked to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education. Equipping schools with these educational tools can help students succeed in college and beyond. On October 18, 2014, the Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club, along with local breweries will host its third annual Pints for Half-Pints, a craft beer event with all proceeds going toward STEM initiatives at Midtown IPS Schools.
Pints for Half-Pints will include craft beer from local breweries, available in a tasting size or by the pint. One brewery team will take home the trophy from the event’s Broad Ripple Brewers Throw Down, a hilarious Family Feud contest, Brewery style. Bring your appetite for the food trucks that will be onsite, and enjoy the live entertainment by Big Bill Taylor (blues/acoustic rock) in a space known for its collaborative support of technology: the Speak Easy.
The Speak Easy is located at 5255 N. Winthrop Avenue in Indianapolis. The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is $10.00 per person and includes a souvenir pint glass to the first 300 attendees. Beer tickets and food truck items will be sold separately at the event. This event is for ages 21 and over.
