Two new breweries are planning to open this summer in Tell City.

This will create a new restaurant and bar at the corner of Seventh and Humboldt Streets and a new tasting room near Washington and Main. Those two new breweries are Tell City Beer Company and Pour Haus, and both intend to start selling their products this year.

Derek Cronin is one of four founding members of the ‘Pour Haus, that will be located on 7th Street, and Vince Luecke is one of two founding members of the Tell City Beer Company.

Both Cronin and Luecke say their brewing teams have been creating home brews for years and are now ready to hear what the public thinks.

Cronin says the ‘Pour Haus’ restaurant and bar will feature three separate rooms, once used by the Tell City Manufacturing Machine Shop. One will house the family-friendly restaurant, another will house the main bar area, and the third will house the brewing equipment.

Luecke says his brewery will not feature a restaurant, but instead will have a tasting room for interested beer enthusiasts.

“Unfortunately, we lost a nice running restaurant, Capers, in town. We acquired the Chef and General Manager, Jeff Vanhoosier. He’s also going to be the kitchen manager and chef here at our place. So, we’re really looking forward to that,” Cronin says.

Both the Tell City Beer Company and the Pour Haus say they hope to start selling their products commercially before Tell City’s Schweitzerfest this fall. The Pour Haus is expected to be open some time this summer.
