There’s an art to beer-making, which is why TAP for TAF craft brew fest is the perfect fundraiser for an arts organization, said Tetia Lee, executive director of Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF).
“I definitely see a correlation between what they do and what other artists do,” she said.
This year, 15 different breweries will bring several beers, making an estimated 60 beers available to taste.
The beer will come from breweries from all over Indiana including local operations, such as People’s Brewing Company and Lafayette Brewing Company, and newcomers Thr3e Wise Men, Outliers, Fountain Square, and Brugge Brasserie.
Mainstays such as Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery in Kokomo, Flat 12 Bierwerks and Triton Brewing Company in Indianapolis will return.
“Triton’s bringing the Railsplitter IPA,” Lee said. “That’s a hugely popular one. It’s one of the most highly regarded IPAs.”
This year’s TAP for TAF also has a different location. Instead of being held outside TAF, the event has been moved to the roof of the county parking garage on Second Street between Columbia and South streets.
Lee said the move aims to increase visibility and to showcase alternative venues.
“Being an arts organization, we feel like we can apply our creative license to transform that space,” she said.
Plus, “the parking garage has a great view over the bridge,” she said.
