28 Jun The 2Toms 4th Anniversary Luau Will Hula Its Way Into Your Heart on July 23
by Mark E. Lasbury for Indiana On Tap
One of the great parties of the summer is coming up in Fort Wayne on July 23rd. The 4th Anniversary Luau at 2Toms Brewing isn’t just a party, it’s also an unlimited samples beer festival, with 40+ beers, ciders, and meads from around the state. 2Toms will have a tiki bar, live music, and food specials and guest food trucks and a special anniversary beer release (see below) – this is just a great time.
A one of a kind tropical beer festival in northern Indiana is something you don’t see every day; I’d say it’s a great opportunity for people all around the central and northern part of the state to visit and enjoy all the amenities and the great beer from 2Toms. South Bend, Kokomo, Muncie, Warsaw, Goshen, Angola……they’re all 1.5 hr. or less from 2Toms. Plus, there’s a bunch of additional great breweries and beer bars in Fort Wayne to visit while you’re there.
While you enjoy a summer Saturday and wander around picking all your favorite samples from 3-8pm, take in the two sources of music. Hawaiian and tropical tunes will be coming out of the speakers – of course, that’s when Sam Harness isn’t on stage. Yes, that name is familiar, Sam was a top 20 finisher on the most recent season of The Voice. He’s now touring extensively and using what he learned from his coach, John Legend, and he’s stopping in the city he was raised in to do another 2Toms show.
The great music will pair well with great food. 2Toms will have a new in-house food partner starting in early July, and they will have their regular menu and some special dishes just for the party. I can’t wait to see who it is.. They will also be joined by Mercadito Food Truck to expand the food choices you’ll have. After all, you’re going to need some substantive calories to absorb all those unlimited free samples.
If you’ve ever been to the 2Toms Frozen Firkin Fest or to one of their previous Anniversary Luaus, then you know how they bring in great guest breweries, cideries, and meaderies to compliment the beers and seltzers that the host is pouring. Suffice it to say, 2Toms makes just about every beer style under the sun, from barleywines to their hazy IPAs to their great sours, but bringing in beers from their friends expands the beer universe of the festival even further – they don’t pour regional or mega-beer brands, these are the best of the best Indiana craft producers.
Tickets for the luau are available here, and there are options for those as well. A VIP ticket gets you much more than just access to the drinks, food, and music. You’ll also get a souvenir glass, and a 4-pak of the special release anniversary beer, a Rum Barrel Aged Banana Daiquiri Ice Cream Sour, with bananas, coconut and vanilla soft serve. There will also be souvenir sunglasses and lei for VIPs, as well as access to the Barrel Room VIP Lounge, which will have some small food items some VIP beers, and……..air conditioning!
If you choose to go the General Admission route, you’ll have access to the unlimited sample pours of 40+ beers and a souvenir sampling glass to drink them from, as well as being able to buy the food and listen to the music. Designated drivers will enjoy the company of their friends and all the music, and be able to purchase eats from all the food vendors.
If you’re anywhere near Fort Wayne on the 23rd, you couldn’t find a better way to spend your Saturday afternoon than to join all the 2Toms crew and hundreds of your friends at the 4th Anniversary Luau. It’s a great bargain for all you receive, and you get to support a great brewery and congratulate them on their continued success – and their expansion – look for the 2Toms Indy taproom on E. 96th Street to open to the public on July 1.
