05 May Indiana BLueMIle Brew Mile Summer Series
They combine their love for running and their enjoyment of craft beer for a social event that’s a run/walk with prizes, giveaways and awards–and the awards aren’t for the fastest! Yes, it’s only one mile, and yes, you can do it!
This is a social event combined with running and walking, and it’s just one mile! Families, pets and strollers are welcome. This is a very, very casual event, so please don’t expect chip timing, instant results, a certified course or aid stations along the way! It’s all about getting moving, having fun, and celebrating the social aspects of health and fitness!
Your $5 entry gets you into the run/walk and one beer (or other beverage if you’re under age or prefer something different). All proceeds go to fund running shoes for participants in Back On My Feet, a local charity that promotes self-sufficiency of the homeless by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence and self-esteem. (BlueMile is the official run/walk partner of Back On My Feet and provides shoes to participants. Your donation helps fund their shoes).
Thanks to their partners, they’ll have some great giveaways. If you’re a little out of shape or lacking motivation, we can’t think of any better way to jump-start your summer fitness plan. We’ll also have test shoes on hand, so if yours are getting a little old or you want to try the latest and greatest, their vendor partners will be happy to help!
The BlueMile Brew Mile series will continue throughout the summer:
May 14, Grand Junction Brewing Company, Westfield
May 28, Flat 12 Bierworks, Downtown Indy
June 4, Thr3e Wise Men, Broad Ripple
June 18, Oaken Barrel, Greenwood
July 9, Casler’s Kitchen & Bar, Fishers
July 23, Union Brewing Company, Carmel
All events begin at 6:30, but plan to arrive by 6pm to register. Advance registration online is recommended! You may register for $5 cash (only) at the door, or in advance online.
The BlueMile Brew Mile summer series is all about fun and fitness. So, if you’re a committed runner or walker, this is a great way to get your not-so-committed friends out the door and on their way to an active lifestyle. Their goal is to promote running and walking as a fun way to stay healthy and fit. And, if it takes a beer to get your friends to join you, we’re here to help!
