Evansville Man Plans To Open ‘Nano Pub’ At Haynie’s Corner

Brew-lover Jeff Smith isn’t trying to compete with Evansville’s main breweries with a small pub he plans to open this year in the heart of Haynie’s Corner Arts District.

“I think we all have a different niche,” 59-year-old Smith said. “I think there is room for all of us. … I just hope I make as a good a beer as the other breweries in town.”

He’s taking his love homebrewing to the next level by opening a “nano brewery” at 56 Adams Avenue, next door the Haynie’s Corner landmark Alhambra Theatre.

Smith’s soon-to-open Evansville Brewhouse joins Tin Man Brewing Company, Carson Brewery and Turoni’s Pizza and Brewery for locally-produced, craft beer available for sale.
