Cupcakes are for celebrations. What is a better way to end the “Exploring the Deep” series at MashCraft than with the Deep End Cupcake Jubilee? All five versions of this tasty MashCraft brew were all back on the Southside of Indy for only one night, and I was lucky enough to try all five brews paired with delicious treats from Simply Divine Cupcakes.

The Deep was paired with an Oatmeal Stout Truffle. The Deep, in my option, is just about the best oatmeal stout you are going to find anywhere. Its rich taste, chocolate notes, and smooth taste sure do make this girl happy. Pair it with a dark chocolate truffle made with the same oats as The Deep? Pure Heaven.

The Plum Deep was a surprising treat. The sweetness of the plum definitely came though in the finish of this version. It was paired with a Plum Truffle.

The Vanilla Deep is aged on Madagascar vanilla beans. Big vanilla flavor is what you got from this version of the beer. It was paired with a very moist vanilla bean cupcake with buttercream frosting.

The Peppermint Deep took me completely off my game. It was the biggest surprise of the night for me. I expected the mint bite, but what I did not expect was the crisp, clean flavor that the Peppermint Deep delivered. I almost expected it to be over powering, yet it was mild and mellow, and was pleasantly surprising to find it to be my favorite of all the variations. It was paired with a Peppermint and Stout Truffle, which only added to my enjoyment of this version.

The Capsicum Deep is infused with four different peppers. This version packed a punch. It was mild enough to be drinkable, yet balanced enough to feel the heat on the back end of the beer. It was paired with an Oatmeal Stout Cupcake with a chili filling with cinnamon buttercream.

I couldn’t have been more happy to try five different versions of a beer that I already love. I was lucky enough to take my husband to the Deep End Cupcake Jubilee. Talk about a sweet date night…
