26 Sep Cardinal Spirits of Bloomington Announces First Ever Bourbon and New Gin
Cardinal Spirits, Bloomington’s first Indiana craft distillery, has announced the release dates for their new gin created with the most famous spice blender in the country, and their much-anticipated, first-ever bourbon.
TERRA BOTANICAL GIN
Release date: Friday, Sept. 29 – Release events
We distilled Terra Botanical Gin with a custom spice blend from Lior Lev Sercarz of the legendary La Boîte spice company in NYC. It is a beautiful Indiana gin with unexpected spices from all around the world: Zuta, an unusual mint from Israel lends floral, pine and resin notes; Indonesian berries add grapefruit bitterness. It captures nostalgia for nature – wild, outdoorsy, fresh. Wilderness in a bottle.
Lior creates spice blends for the most famous chefs in the world, and this is his first blend for a spirit.
SINGLE-BARREL BOURBON
Release date: Friday, Oct. 14 – Release events
Our head distiller has given one of our bourbon barrels the green light for release! It will be our first-ever bourbon, and the only aged spirit that we’ll release this year. For this one, we sourced 4 grains (corn, barley, wheat, and rye) from Columbus and Lebanon, and we’re incredibly proud of how smooth and flavorful and distinctly Indiana this bourbon is. It’s truly small batch — it’s a single barrel and when it’s gone, it’s gone.
