2nd Annual Dogapalooza at Flat12 Bierwerks this Sunday

I am a dog person, and I love how much dog culture meshes with beer drinking.  On Sunday, June 12, Flat12 Bierwerks will be upping the ante with the release of their 12 Paws Dog Brew, a non-alcoholic drink for canines. It will be released in conjunction with their second annual Dogapalooza. 

At noon on the 12th, The 12 Paws will be tapped.  It will be a healthy blend of fresh wort from Flat12’s flagship beers(wort is a good source of sugar and protein) and a protein broth provided by The Smoking Goose.  Brewers yeast was also added, and it is a good source of Vitamin B.  12 Paws is touted to be a healthy and tasty treat for our fluffy friends, and I cannot wait for my puppies to try it.

Along with the doggy brew, Flat12 has some tasty beers for humans on tap, like the ever delicious Pogue’s Run Porter, Cucumber Kolsch, and the Dó Dhéag Dry Irish Stout.  There will be doggy treats, and of course, Christina will be serving people delicious Pennsylvania style sandwiches at Hoagies and Hops, the deli inside the brewery.

Heaven After Hell Rescue Shelter will be at Flat12 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. with dogs eligible for adoption. The proceeds will benefit the shelter. You can also bring pet supply donations for the shelter and a list can be found on Flat12’s Dogapalooza webpage.  Attendees are also encouraged to bring their pets, and with all the food and beverage for them, it would be crazy not to.  I will be there next Sunday with my Schnoodle Bella, and hope to see you there too.
