Just imagine the day you have a beer in hand, you’re listening to live rock while sitting on the luscious green grass at Parkview Field in downtown Fort Wayne.
That day could be yours, thanks to organizers of the first Rock N’ Brew beer sampling and music festival.
Rock N’ Brew is 5-8 p.m. June 7 at Parkview Field, 1301 Ewing St., in downtown Fort Wayne. VIP ticket-holders get an exclusive preview of the selections at 4 p.m., an hour before other festival-goers, unlimited samplings, choice of dinner, complimentary snacks and a Rock N’ Brew pilsner glass. Additional ticketing service fees might apply.
Brian Sheikh, promotions director and sales executive with Federated Media, said beer festivals in Fort Wayne are very popular, but he hopes Rock N’ Brew offers something that Fort Wayne has been missing in the past.
“We are looking to create a cornerstone fair sampling event for Fort Wayne. There are lots of them around Fort Wayne but no cornerstone one that exists in the market. It’ll be a great way to kick off summer,” he said.
The rock n’ roll entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Adam Strack Band. Strack has been playing on the Fort Wayne music scene for years starting off with a big family band that included his dad, siblings and even his grandma. Strack’s popular for his acoustic grooves that get people moving.
Per any great beer festival, the list of breweries participating is long and include favorites such as Three Floyds, Flat 12, Bloomington Brewing Company, Sun King, Triton, New Holland, Dark Horse, Bells and some more. There will also be ballpark food available for purchase, too.
Also, there’s a contingency plan in the case of rain so don’t let showers keep you from stopping out to Parkview Field for some brews.
