Maple Syrup & Bourbon Barrel Aged Rye Stout Release is Just One Element of the Gala

Monticello, IN (April 29, 2018): As a celebration of a truly unique Indiana product, Kopacetic Beer Factory will hold bottle release party for “Russian for Maple,” an Imperial Rye Stout aged in Indiana oak barrels previously used to age both Indiana Whiskey Co.’s Just Bourbon whiskey and an Indiana-produced maple syrup. The release event will take place from 4pm – 11pm at the brewery, located at 12195 N. Hwy. 421.

Members of Kopacetics’s Factory Union will have first opportunity to purchase the red-waxed dipped 12 oz bottles decorated with label art from local artist Jessica Stevens. At six o’clock, the bottles will be put on sale to the public, with a limit of two and price of $12/bottle. Only 72 bottles of this one-off beer are available, so early purchase is suggested.

But the bottle release is just one portion of the day’s activities. Bottles of the maple syrup produced by Newmun Homestead of Fort Wayne aged in these same Indiana oak barrels will be available for sale (20 bottles only, $12/bottle). Sean has been working with Roger Newmun for three years and said of the Newmun’s, “A great family to work with and I look forward to continuing the relationship into the future.”

The bottle release will also be paralleled by a tap release of Golden Rule, a three way collaboration between Flat12 Bierwerks, Fountain Square Brewing, and Burn ‘Em Brewing. May 4th will represent the final tapping event on their tapping tour for this beer, with an accompanying concert by The Beer Hippies, made up of Burn ‘Em boys and other brewing industry musicians. The Hippies will take the stage sometime between 7pm and 8pm for a two-hour set.

As part of the Kopacetic First Friday Tap Takeovers, four beers from each of the three breweries will be on tap along with their collaboration beer. The remaining seven taps will be filled with Kopacetic Beer Factory offerings, so there will be something for everyone. That’s a lot going on, but Sean said, “Otherwise, just a fairly normal day at the Factory; lots of fun with great people around to ring in the weekend in Monticello.”

About Kopacetic Beer Factory. The brewery in Monticello, IN was founded in early 2017 as owner and head brewer Sean Manahan returned to his ancestral home to raise a family. Located in a renovated highway department garage, Kopacetic has partnered with The Scoreboard, a “from scratch” restaurant to highlight Indiana craftsmanship and products. Kopacetic Beer Factory uses Hoosier made products in its brew house and sells only Indiana produced beers and merchandise. The brewpub’s twenty taps serve a majority of Kopacetic beers, but also feature guest beers from around the state and are categorized by style for easy identification.
