When warmer weather hits, masses of pedestrians will take to the Big Four Bridge, lacing up sneakers and mounting bicycles to cross the mile-long path that connects Louisville and Jeffersonville, Ind.
On the Southern Indiana side, a new brewery will wait, ready to give the crowd what it really wants: a good beer.
“There’s this thing about Louisville and not wanting to come over to Jeffersonville,” Flat 12 general manager Shanna Henry said. “We’re hoping that by offering 21 beers, people will make the trip. … I think that’s amazing that you would walk a mile to come get a good beer. Because I totally would.”
Indianapolis-based Flat 12 opened its first satellite brewery on Riverside Drive in November and has since eased into the local craft beer scene, forming relationships with the community and preparing to expand as the temperatures rise.
The 4-year-old company is somewhat of a heavy hitter in the Indiana craft beer scene — with the fourth-largest production in the state — and the second location will allow its owners to spread their craft beer love regionally, Henry said…CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY AT THE COURIER JOURNAL
