Dust off your Lederhosen and steins–Munich is coming back to Lawrence!
The city of Lawrence, in partnership with Indiana On Tap, is excited to present the return of the wildly popular ‘Lagers in Lawrence’ Oktoberfest. The 2022 event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24th from 2pm – 6pm. This event will again be one of the largest and premier Oktoberfest events in all of central Indiana.
This festive event returns to its exciting new home in 2022, the Fort Ben Cultural Campus! This picturesque campus features the newly-renovated historic theater, a visual arts center, an artist walk, a history walk, an amphitheater, and the world’s largest set of musical swings, all surrounded by stunning public art displays and green spaces. Attendees will be allowed UNLIMITED POURS of more than 100+ craft beverages. The event will feature all styles of beer in addition to the popular Lager styles. And not to worry, there will be plenty of pretzels.
In addition to featuring one of Indy’s best DJ’s who will be playing all of your favorite dance hits on stage, we’re ALSO excited to feature the Liederkranz Brass Band–a 15-piece authentic Munich Oktoberfest-style German band who will also be performing from 3pm – 5pm!

Returning in 2022: We’re excited to introduce Oktoberfest-style, Weiner Dog Racing! That’s right, Dachshunds of all shapes and sizes from around central Indiana will be racing in multiple heats throughout the event in the ‘Running of the Weiners,’ with the winners competing in the championship heat at the end for the honor of ‘Fastest Weiner.’ Trust us–if you’ve never seen it, you don’t want to miss it!
Games, raffles and more will again play part in the afternoon’s entertainment as well. The event will also feature several classical German dance routines from the Fort Wayne Tanzer Dance Group. It’s spectacular to see–you don’t want to miss it.
BRING YOUR OWN BEER STEIN! While tasting cups will be provided to all attendees upon entry, we encourage all attendees to bring their favorite stein or beer mug to the event for larger samples.
The event will also play host to a “Masskrugstemmen” (stein-holding) competition for the crowd to enjoy. A select number of event attendees will be allowed to compete in this unique Bavarian feat of strength and endurance competition where contestants must hold a 1-liter stein of beer out in front of them (at shoulder level) for as long as they can. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the winners.

Gates will open for VIP entry from 2pm – 6pm, with General Admission entry beginning at 3pm. VIP ticket buyers will have an extra hour to enjoy the event. Designated Drivers must purchase tickets AT the gate the day of the event and may enter the event at any time.

This is a 21+ event. All attendees must show a valid photo I.D. at the gate upon entry. You must be 21 years or older to attend–this includes Designated Drivers. No exceptions. All ticket sales are final. The event will be held rain or shine.
