Chilly Water Brewing Co. opened its doors in June 2014. A little over a year later, the brewery is celebrating a huge honor: Best in Show, Indiana Brewery of the Year, and Grand Champion Brewery of the Year at the Indiana Brewers’ Cup.

On Saturday, the Indiana State Fair Brewers’ Cup home brew and brewery competition was open to the public for the first time. For its 17th year, the Brewers of Indiana Guild partnered with the State Fair to add a two-hour tasting and dinner reception.

The competition is one of the largest in the country. Judges certified by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) spent two days scoring 1,300 entries. One judge, Paul Peng Wang, traveled all the way from Taiwan to serve on the judges panel.
