Upland Brewing Co. held a public sale of their popular sour series Saturday. The limited quantity release contained five of their sour variant bottles being sold directly at all of their pubs and taprooms.

Twenty five people gathered outside of the Upland Broad Ripple Tasting Room before its noon opening. The usual friendly revelry and bottle sharing common before rare releases ensued.

Upland’s five offerings Saturday included two collaborations with Oliver Winery: VinoSynth Red and VinoSynth White, aged on Catawba and Vidal Blanc grapes respectively. The Cauldron blends Malefactor Epic Flanders-Style Red Ale with Dantalion Dark Wild Ale and is aged on northern Michigan Montmorency cherries. The final two options released Saturday were Belgium Lambic styles of Blackberry and Cherry. The Cherry Lambic was the most limited in quantity and sold out very quickly.

The Upland sours take up to a year and a half to produce and Upland holds four to five sour releases per year.  Upland began construction to increase their sour production capacity last fall and the expansion should be completed soon
