Sculpin fans rejoice: Ballast Point is coming to Indiana

Scuplin fans can finally rejoice: your days of muling Ballast Point across state lines will soon be over.

In a very subtle announcement, Ballast Point Brewing Company will be kicking off its distribution to Indiana with a March 8th with a launch party and tap takeover at Carmel’s BoomBozz Pizza & Taphouse (who just celebrated their 4th anniversary with a great party this week).

The San Diego-based brewery (which recently sold to Constellation Brands) has long been available for our neighbors to the east and west, but has escaped Indiana fans who have needed to resort to driving the Cincinnati or Chicago to bring their famous Sculpin or Victory at Sea series home, or pray for some lucky exchanges through the mail.

The 3/8 launch party will feature Big Eye IPA, Sculpin IPA, Grapefruit Sculpin, Pineapple Sculpin, and the Victory at Sea porter with coffee and vanilla on draft, along with a $2 pint as well as a special Beer of the Day which is still TBA.

Ballast Point is a beer that has long avoided the Hoosier state, but beginning March 8th, that will change. And this IPA fan can’t be happier.

Editor:  Due to changes in distribution, Ballast Point beers will not arrive in Indiana until March 7th. This moves BoomBozz’s event to Tuesday, March 8th. The story has been changed to reflect this.

That’s fantastic! Sculpin is one of my favorite IPAs. I haven’t tried the Grapefruit Sculpin yet, so can’t wait to get a taste….

The new trend. Macro brewery buys Craft Brewery, Expands production to cover takeover costs and it’s everywhere. I hope the quality is still there. We will all know very soon…
