Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. – ‘NOTES FROM THE BREWER’S DESK’ – 5.16.14

In the recent article by Indianapolis Star, beer judges and the staff of writers who are beer connoisseurs did a blind taste test of Indiana craft beers.  And when the blindfold was taken off, Oaken Barrel’s Gnaw Bone Pale Ale received the top honor.  Some of the judges were very surprised with the result, since some of them never had the Gnaw Bone Pale Ale. They loved the floral aroma of the Gnaw Bone with crisp hoppy finish. Daredevil’s Lift Off IPA and Mad Anthony’s IPA received recognition as
well.  Take away the marketing and the social media hype of the bigger breweries, the taste buds of many know where the good beers are.  But, you already knew that!

Look for a new seasonal beer brewed by our assistant brewer Sara Turner. It is a Weizenbock, and it is a first beer of her own recipe.
