20 Aug Indianapolis Craft Whiskey Distillery Secures Private Investment to Expand
Indianapolis, IN — West Fork Whiskey Co., an Indianapolis-based craft whiskey distillery located at the corner of 17th and Bellefontaine Street in the historic Kennedy-King neighborhood, has secured private investment funding to support added production capacity, a new rickhouse, longer aging capabilities, and regional distribution in the Midwest.
Larger distilling equipment and a secondary, to-be-determined space for the new rickhouse feed plans to increase production volume by twelve times and expand retail distribution beyond the distiller’s current 261 locations in Indiana. Most recently, they have added retail outlets in eastern Indiana along with a number of Kroger Grocery stores throughout the state.
“Our goal has always been to make and share extraordinary craft whiskey, that uses only Indiana grains, with as many people as we can,” co-founder Blake Jones said. “We saw an opportunity to establish a unique company in a growing, historic area, and this investment allows us the opportunity to showcase how great Indiana whiskey truly is while playing our part in the local community.”
While West Fork Whiskey will continue to supply more retail locations, bars, and restaurants throughout Indiana, the company also serves bottles, flights, and craft cocktails at its tasting room on 1660 Bellefontaine Street. Guests in the tasting room can enjoy a packed house for free Tuesday night trivia (starting at 7:00 p.m.) and special fundraising nights where 10% of all revenue goes to a charity that changes every month. August’s charity is School on Wheels, and next month’s is Best Buddies International. Other events hosted at the Tasting Room include live music and partnerships with other Indiana companies, like Lick Ice Cream and City Dogs Grocery.
West Fork Whiskey also recently launched the first whiskey of it’s limited edition Distiller’s Collection on August 10th. These small batches will only have 60–180 bottles for sale and are released every quarter.
