24 Mar Indianapolis Craft Whiskey Distillery Resurrects Historic Indiana Whiskey Brand

Indianapolis, IN — West Fork Whiskey Co., an Indianapolis-based craft whiskey distillery located at the corner of 17th and Bellefontaine Street in the historic Kennedy-King neighborhood, has decided to resurrect the historic Indiana whiskey brand, Old Hamer.
Old Hamer Whiskey, originally established in 1825 at the Spring Mill Village located in Lawrence County, Indiana has been given a new life. This whiskey, once said to be the finest whiskey around, will be sold in two forms – an 80 proof straight bourbon and a cask strength straight bourbon. West Fork Whiskey is deeming this its first Resurrection Project. The Old Hamer straight bourbon whiskeys will be available in the market beginning April 1st.
“The goal of West Fork Whiskey has always been to create great Indiana whiskey. We decided to resurrect the Old Hamer brand as it has a unique place in the history books of whiskey in this great State.” Co-Founder Blake Jones said. “Its mash bill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley is very similar, if not identical, to that of what the Hamer family would have used while creating their whiskey. We feel this brand is an accurate representation of great Indiana whiskey.”
West Fork Whiskey will continue to produce and grow its set of 6 base brands in addition to the new Old Hamer brands. The company offers bottles, flights, and craft cocktails at its tasting room on 1660 Bellefontaine Street. Guests in the tasting room can enjoy free live music typically on Fridays or Saturdays, Tuesday night trivia (starting at 7:00 p.m.), and other events like their recent pop up brunch with Gallery Pastry Shop or Whiskey & Wings night with Crossroads Catering.
