For Immediate Release:

Indiana On Tap, LLC, in partnership with the city of Whitestown, IN and in conjunction with the Whitestown Brew Fest scheduled on Saturday, September 19th (www.WhitestownBrewFest.com) is excited to announce the first annual Whitestown Brew Fest Homebrew Competition, to run concurrently with the festival inside the festival grounds at the Whitestown Municipal Complex. Homebrewers from around the area and across the state will pour their beers during the Whitestown Brew Fest, with the competition beer, a “hoppy ale,” being voted on by festival attendees. Homebrewers will also have other beers available to pour during the festival, which will feature live music and numerous breweries and food vendors from around Indiana.

The competition’s winning beer will ultimately be produced on a large scale by a soon-to-be-announced central Indiana brewery.

“A homebrew competition inside of a large-scale beer festival is something really unique that we’re doing with the Whitestown Brew Fest,” competition organizer Adam Schick says. “People are brought to festivals by the thought of tasting beers they can’t get anywhere else. Having proven, accomplished homebrewers pouring their best offerings will only add to what is expected to be an already unique craft beer and festival experience.”

Competitors are still being accepted to the festival, but an exciting field of new and experienced homebrewers has already made the lineup. Voting will take place during a two hour window of the day, funneling attendees towards competitors and their beer.

“The homebrewers are going to be just as big of a part of the festival as the professional breweries,” Schick adds. “And given how so many of the festival’s professional, participating breweries started as individual homebrewers themselves, it’s something they’re equally excited to support.”

The Whitestown Brew Fest is scheduled for September 19th. VIP and general admission tickets can be purchased at www.whitestownbrewfest.com.

Those interested in competing in the homebrewing competition should contact Schick at adam@indianaontap.com.
