Beer of the Week — Haymaker Bourbon Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout from Indiana City Brewing Co.

This week’s Beer of the Week features Indiana City Brewing Co.’s Haymaker Bourbon Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout.   If you thought their Shadow Boxer Oatmeal Stout couldn’t be any better, you’ll love it fresh out of a bourbon barrel. Haymaker was born from a 5 gallon pilot batch initially released in their taproom. They had to have more, so they went down to Kentucky to find the perfect barrel. They filled it full and let it ride for several months. Haymaker has rich oak flavor up front with a smooth bourbon finish and strong earthy bourbon notes in its aroma.
8.0% ABV, 45 IBU
