18 May Flat12 Bierwerks Gets a New Look
Phase 1 of Near Eastside Taproom remodel to begin May 20, 2018
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, May 18, 2018 – Flat12 Bierwerks is excited to announce a fresh new look coming this spring! The taproom and growler room of the brewery will be getting a major overhaul with Bidmead & Younger Construction beginning May 20th featuring a new bar, more seating, and a new look. The patio and beer garden will also be refreshed with colorful landscaping and new outdoor games.
Taproom construction will occur in two phases. The first phase, a complete remodel of the taproom will include a 20 seat bar, table seating for 42, and 32 taps, many of which will be rotating limited releases. Flat12 will have permanent lines for monthly releases of barrel aged beers, sour beers, ciders, and a few experimental IPAs as well as seasonal releases and a few Flat12 favorites.
“We decided to reinvent our space because it was time for us to live our brand. Flat12 is creating many new and exciting beers this year and we wanted our taproom to reflect a fresh, new approach to our customers’ experience.” said Valerie Green, Flat12’s Marketing & Events Director.
The second phase of construction begins June 3, 2018 and will remodel the growler room area of the brewery. The 12 draft lines will move to the taproom, seating will be expanded, and a new restroom added to accommodate the increased traffic to the brewery and the restaurant inside Flat12, Hoagies & Hops. Flat12 is planning to make the former growler room area all ages.
“We’ve had more and more guests asking for all ages space at the brewery, and we’ve worked hard with Indiana Excise to find a way to accommodate them. We want Flat12 to be a gathering place for all, and allowing families was important to our customers. We listened and are in the process of making it happen,” said Andrew Teed, Flat12 owner.
Construction will largely take place during closed hours, but the taproom will be closed to the public May 22nd for finishing touches. The growler room will remain open until June 3, 2018.
Flat12 is planning a Grand Reopening celebration Friday, June 22nd. Guests are invited to check out the new space while enjoying beer and food specials and live music from the Innocent Boys at 7pm.
