12 Aug All Indiana vendors at River City Grapes and Hops Fest
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — If you are looking for an opportunity to sample some local wine and beer, we have just the thing for you. The third annual River City Grapes and Hops Fest is Saturday in downtown Lafayette.
Guests from the Tippecanoe County Historical Association came on News 18 at Noon to discuss this weekend’s event.
Committee chair Sarah Snoeberger said it’s a great time to sample beer and wine from nine different Indiana vendors and pay only one fee.
“You can taste as few or as many of their products as you’d like, and it gives you a way to learn what you like and what you don’t like,” Snoeberger said. “And then, you can buy their products to take home with you.”
TCHA executive director Kathy Atwell said all the money raised goes directly to the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. She said most people know about their primary fundraiser of the year, The Feast of the Hunters’ Moon, but she said the association likes to add some more fun in for year than just the Feast.
“There’s a whole lot of time between [the Feast]. And so events like this not only let people know that we’re still a viable association, but it helps with our operation,” said Atwell. “It gets us ready to make some more fun and be a little different than the Feast…It’s a good opportunity for fundraising for us.”
The River City Grapes and Hops Fest is Saturday, Aug. 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Snoeberger said the location has changed this year and the event will held in downtown Lafayette on Fifth Street, between Main and Columbia streets.
Tickets are $25 per person and $5 for the designated driver and are available online or at the History Store within the Battlefield Museum, 200 Battleground Ave., in Battle Ground.
