Daredevil Brewing will break ground Aug. 22 on a new 10,000-square-foot brewery in Speedway.
Twin brothers Shane and Michael Pearson and friend Bill Ballinger opened Daredevil in December 2012 in Shelbyville, but the brewing company already has run out of space.
Daredevil will move all of its operations to the $2 million facility when it’s completed next year. The brewery, to be built on a 2-acre site just south of the Dallara IndyCar Factory, will include a taproom with a full menu. The groundbreaking will be 10 a.m. Aug 22 in the 1100 block of Main Street.
To build thirst for the new brewery, Daredevil will have a beer-tasting festival from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Dallara IndyCar Factory, 1201 Main St.
The festival will feature 20 local, regional and national breweries that have been asked to bring their hoppiest beers and something different.
Participating breweries include Daredevil, Hop City, New Belgium, Against the Grain, Bell’s, Boulevard, Country Boy, Flat 12, Founders, Goose Island, Great Divide, Jolly Pumpkin, North Peak, Oskar Blues, Rhinegeist, Shmaltz, Sierra Nevada, Stone, The St. Louis Brewery and Triton.
Tickets will cost $25 for general admission and $35 for early entry. For more information, Click Here.
