Ride Bikes, Drink Beer: BBC 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat Day Returns, Saturday April 23rd

Celebrate Bloomington Brewing Company’s annual 10-Speed Hoppy Wheat Day on Saturday, April 23, in the Brewpub at Lennie’s. Join us for a fun-filled day of celebrating two of Bloomington’s favorite pastimes — Riding Bikes and Drinking Beer!

This year, there are two ride options. We are leading a no-drop, all skill levels ride that leaves the BBC Brewpub at 2 PM. Show up early and see our friends from Salt Creek Cycles who will be offering free bike tune-ups before the ride. Indiana on Tap is also hosting their sold-out 3rd Annual Bloomington Tour de Biere, a casual 9-mile ride with stops at each Bloomington’s fine breweries that day. Both rides will end at the BBC Brewpub by 4 PM when the 10-Speed festivities begin.

We’ll be sharing special tappings, including funky firkins and our very first 10-Speed Radler, at 4 PM in the pub. You’ll also have chances to win cool prizes, including merchandise, gift cards and a vintage 10-speed bicycle, restored and tricked out with a royal 10-Speed treatment by Salt Creek Cycles. Winners will be announced at 5 PM.

Representatives from the Monroe County Energy Challenge will also be there with an Energy Bike! Pedal this bike to light incandescent, CFL, and LED bulbs, a fan, a hairdryer, and other everyday items to see how much energy each takes!
