Wabash Brewing – Nano Custom Brewing

Wabash Brewing – Nano Custom Brewing

From the Wabash Brewing Kickstarter project page

Wabash Brewing is bringing a new spin to the art and science of craft beer – CUSTOM BREWING for your next special event!

Wabash Brewing is a new nano brewery (3BBL or smaller production system) opening up on the Northwest side of Indianapolis.

With a heritage as homebrewers we have spent the last year in an intense research, development, and design phase to determine how a nano brewery can offer excellent quality and repeatability on a small scale, while using our small size in a new and creative way.  With backgrounds in chemistry, biology, process engineering, and even a bona fide rocket scientist we think we have that answer.

First we want to apply our science background to a new level on the nano scale.  With the ability to run sophisticated analytical instruments we can identify dozens of flavor compounds on part per million or in some cases part per billion levels.  Then applying our automated control system (PLC) we can ensure minimal variations from batch to batch.

Second we hope to use our size to your advantage.  We can’t compete on quantity but with a smaller system we have a high level of flexibility.  We want to put that flexibility to use for you by offering custom brewing.  So what is custom brewing? Say your having a wedding, retirement, or a backyard blowout party and want to make the event special by offering your guests a keg of beer you help develop, well look no further than Wabash Brewing.  A hoppy blueberry wheat you can’t find in the store … not a problem!  How about a 120 IBU black IPA with citrus notes … you got it.

Our intense R&D over the last year has also helped us craft 4 well designed beers that Include:

  • Waapaahsiiki Blonde Ale – A drier lager feel with the hint of malt and hops you expect in an ale
  • Cannonball Pale Ale – A refreshing pale bursting with citrus notes
  • 503 Amber Ale – Our oldest recipe that strives for balance between malt and hops without compromising on either
  • Portage Porter – Coffee and Mocha notes make it hard to drink just one, come on over to the dark side

Your generous support will help us launch our nano brewery and Custom Brewing Process by providing the following equipment:

  • PLC Controls for the Brewing System
  • Equipment to bring our GC and GC-MS online
  • A Cold Room and Fermentation Room
  • Custom Brewing Equipment such as Fermenters and Brite Tanks

We thank you for taking the time to learn about our project and for your support.  Together we can make Wabash Brewing an amazing nano brewery.
