BLOOMINGTON, IN— Upland Brewing Company announces the release of its seasonal beer Harvest Ale at the end of September on draught and in four-packs. Harvest Ale is brewed once a year, when the hops are fresh off the bine, leading to an unparalleled fresh hop aroma and flavor. “We only get two days notice before the hops arrive, so excitement builds throughout the brewery in the weeks leading up to the brew,” said Lead Brewer Patrick Lynch. “This beer is the epitome of freshness, beginning with locally malted grains and featuring hops that have been picked within 24 hours of use.”
Filling the hopback with wet hops results in a bright, fragrant, and unmistakably citrusy character to this one-of-a-kind beer. “We take extra steps and effort to use wet hops in our hopback because it allows the citrus and tropical fruit character of the Citra to really shine,” said Pete Batule, VP of Brewing Operations.
Beer Description: Harvest Ale pours golden amber with an aroma of extremely fresh, citrusy hops. The freshness of the hops creates a flavorful resin that is balanced by the sweetness of the malts. The finish is clean being dry hopped with Citra at the end of fermentation leaves a mild bitterness. This brewery favorite is meant to be enjoyed soon after packaging to benefit from the freshness of the ingredients.

About the Brewery: Located in Bloomington, Indiana, Upland’s rich history dates all the way back to 1998. The name Upland comes from the term geologists gave to this area of Southern Indiana land which was never overrun by the glaciers that flattened much of Indiana’s landscape.
