23 Dec Nothing 2nd Rate about this 2nd Anniversary Party at Twisted K-8s
On Friday, November 18, Twisted K-8 Brewing in La Porte celebrated its second anniversary with a limited entry, ticketed party. On the bill for the evening were entertainment, food, and of course, beer, hosted by Kate & Michael Boshaw, proprietors of Twisted K-8.
Although I want to note the vast and delicious selection of beers available at the anniversary party, as well as the food, I would be remiss if I did not mention the choice of musical entertainment — Justin King, a solo guitarist also known for his work with the Open Your Eyes band. His talent as both a singer and guitarist was apparent as he channeled artists as diverse as Madonna and Rush, seemingly with little effort. Although I have attended an untold number of concerts and performances, I cannot say I have ever seen anyone quite like Justin. For those of you in Indy and the surrounding environs, his band will be there in April at the Emerson Theater– do yourself a favor and go. For my friends from the northern part of this great state, a show in Valparaiso is planned in January.
Other available beers included Night of the Hunter (an Octoberfest); Hotel Foxtrot (a session IPA); La Porte Blue (blueberry wheat); The Vixen (blonde ale); Anne Bonney (oatmeal stout); Ma Deuce (double IPA); The Girlfriend (honey lager); Slicer Wheat (wheat with citrus notes); Red Headed Slut (amber ale); and Sarcasm (caramel apple ale). Suffice to say, the beer selection, coupled with delicious & ample food, and excellent music, provided for a memorable evening for celebrants.
Many congratulations to Twisted K-8 Brewing on their 2nd Anniversary!
