Local Breweries Plan To Open In Downtown Goshen Late Spring

In addition to warmer weather, the end of spring will bring downtown Goshen two new local breweries and countless opportunities for outdoor events. 

Local brewery Thomas-Stieglitz Brewing Co. is moving into the Goshen Innovation Center, 211 S. Fifth St. Co-owners Jeff Thomas and Gary Stieglitz have already started reconstructing the interior of the building and hope to open in May. 

All their permits are in place, Thomas said. The health department has given tentative approval and will check back just before the brewery opens. They also need to wait for the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission to give final approval.


The brewery will have a three-barrel system, which Thomas says produces about 90 gallons of beer. That’s a smaller amount than what’s seen in most breweries, but it gives the owners the benefit of changing their brews on a more frequent basis.
