22 Jul Indianapolis Whiskey Distillery Wins National Awards for Its Bourbon
Indianapolis, Indiana — West Fork Whiskey Co., an Indianapolis-based craft whiskey distillery, recently won multiple national awards for its historic Old Hamer Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The New York International Spirits Competition rated Old Hamer Cask Strength 92 points while the American Craft Spirits Associated awarded the Cask Strength a Silver Medal and the 80 Proof version a Bronze Medal.
There were many entries in both competitions. Specifically, the New York International Spirits Competition saw over 600 entries from 29 countries. On the other hand, the Heartland Whiskey Competition hosted by the American Craft Spirits Association brought together craft distilleries from all over the Midwest including Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, North Dakota, and Texas.
“We couldn’t be happier with the feedback and medals Old Hamer received in its first two competitions. When we first brought back this historic Indiana whiskey, we didn’t know how it would be received” said Co-Founder & President Blake Jones. “Our hope is that these awards are the first of many for this unique Indiana bourbon.”
