Iechyd Da brewpub opens outdoor patio after months of construction

Elkhart’s first brewery has finally opened its patio to the public after months of construction.

Iechyd Da Brewing Company’s patio served customers under the Saturday afternoon sun for the first time on June 7.

You can sit and drink at any one of the tables lining the patio, which is surrounded by a small garden. You can even play a game of cornhole, a game where players throw bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole at the far end.

Don’t want to step out from under the sun? You can order or pay for your drinks at a nearby counter.

Marshall King, managing editor and food writer for The Elkhart Truth, said customers are going to love the new patio.

“It’s another way to enjoy this good local business,” King said.

Some customers agree.

“It certainly doesn’t suck out here,” said Adam Fann.

The brewpub at 317 North Main St. in Elkhart first opened its doors in June 2012. Iechyd Da celebrated its two-year anniversary Sunday, June 1.
