HopCat Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Crack Fries Eating Contest, Exclusive Beers, And Food Freebies

INDIANAPOLIS — Media and the public are invited to watch – or, better yet, join – HopCat’s annual Crack Fries eating contest, which happens Saturday, Jan. 20, at all 14 of our locations as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our restaurant family’s founding.

Each HopCat will feature exclusive beers and will give away free servings of our famously addictive fries. That’s right, FREE CRACK FRIES! We don’t hit the caps lock for just any old promotion, so we think this is a pretty big deal. They will be available one order per customer along with any purchase until 5 p.m.

There is a $5 fee to participate in the contest, which HopCat will match and donate the entire sum to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. So even if you don’t win, you’ll get to stuff yourself for a good cause. The registration deadline is 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, in person or in advance. Call 317-565-4236 or email general manager Cassy Wilson at cwilson@hopcat.com to sign up early. The main event begins at 3 p.m. The epic prizes are as follows:
– First place: HopCat prize package valued at $500 plus chance to compete for the $2,000 grand prize against the other HopCat location winners at the 2018 Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, Mich. (Includes a voucher to help cover travel costs)

– Second place: $100 HopCat prize package

– Third place: $25 HopCat prize package

– Eternal glory for everyone, because we’re all winners

The party at HopCat’s Broad Ripple location (6280 N. College Ave.) kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday. Since our first location opened in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 2008, HopCat has been recognized as one of top craft beer bars in the U.S. and around the world by authorities such as Draft Magazine, Beer Advocate and CraftBeer.com. The HopCat brand belongs to the BarFly Ventures restaurant group, which also includes Stella’s Lounge, Grand Rapids Brewing Co. and the Waldron Public House.
