Hop River Brewing Company Gets Attention on National Scale

Fort Wayne, IN, September 12, 2018Hop River Brewing Company is currently acknowledged twice in national articles, focusing on the communal, inclusive atmosphere in the brewery’s taproom. It is the Featured Brewery at Craftbeer.com, a national website published by the Brewers Association, the not-for-profit trade organization that protects and promotes small and independent U.S. brewers.

After being open seven months and hosting big community presentations and programs, Hop River has quickly become recognized as a meet up place for local artists, entrepreneurs, outdoor enthusiasts and young professionals. “We had this ‘aha moment’ where we said ‘Why aren’t we just doing this all the time?’” Paris McFarthing (co-owner) says. “This is great way to connect with people. Because at the end of the day, it’s very hard for people to support you if you don’t support them. Inviting people in is really our way of supporting our community.”

The article, Hop River Brewing Company Taps into Fort Wayne’s Watershed Moment, emphasizes the welcoming atmosphere and location as an up-and-coming spot with River North soon-to-be-developed and Wells Street Corridor just a block away.

Hop River was also mentioned in the Craft Beer Muses section with the article, Pet Projects: A New Breed of Beer Activism. It highlights a small handful of breweries around the country focusing on incorporating pets into their offerings. Mentioned specifically, Hop River Brewing Company partners with Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control for monthly Hoppy Hound nights, the third Thursday of every month.
