A Couple Big Weeks Planned For The Guardian Brewing In Muncie

via The Guardian Brewing newsletter

The Guardian (514 E. Jackson Street, Muncie) may have just reopened a few weeks ago, but they have hit the ground running. New beers, events, happenings, and public demonstrations are all on the calendar for the last part of October and first part of November. Here is a sampling:

1. A new beer will be on tap at The Guardian starting on Saturday, the 28th. Following up on their insanely popular Sweetie Pie Pale Stout made with Wick’s sugar cream pies right in the wort, here comes the Wick’d Pumpkin Pie Ale. As with its predecessor, this beer has whole pumpkin pies from Wick’s added right into the recipe (minus the pie pan). This lends a graham cracker flavor to the malt backbone and the cream and other dairy, give the mouth feel of milk stout. Give it a try soon, because it’s going to go fast.

2. The 28th will also be The Guardian’s Hoppy Halloween Party, besides being your first chance to try the Wick’d Pumpkin Ale. There will be prizes for the best individual costume, as well as the best group costume and the funniest costume. The party starts at 8 pm and is for 21+ only.

3. Sundays are yoga days at The Guardian. From 10:45-11:45, you can stretch out and balance, or look like your trying to stretch out and balance. The classes take place right in the taproom before it opens, so you won’t be stared at unless you pick a spot near the window. The classes are only $10 each, or you can buy a five class block for $45.

4. Finally, November 4th is National Teach A Friend To Brew Day, and The Guardian is hosting an interactive instructional demonstration in home brewing from 9 am-4 pm. Not on the Guardian system, this event is geared to five gallon batches like you would brew at home. Head brewer Sean Fickle will lead the session and the ins and outs of making your own beer, and demonstrating home brewers will be hand. There will also be tours of the 15 bbl system that The Guardian uses.
