City of Lawrence Announces Large Oktoberfest Event & Celebration for Sept. 29th

For Immediate Release (Lawrence, IN) – The city of Lawrence, in partnership with Indiana On Tap, is excited to announce the date and time for their inaugural ‘Lagers in Lawrence’ Oktoberfest. This German-themed celebration will be held in the heart of downtown Lawrence at the beautiful Civic Plaza located at 9230 Memorial Park Dr., Lawrence, IN 46216.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 3pm – 7pm and is for ages 21 and older only. It’s being planned as one of the largest and premier Oktoberfest events in all of central Indiana.

The event will feature between 15-20 Indiana craft breweries serving lagers and dozens of other styles of craft beer. More than 100 different craft beers are expected to be available for attendees to taste as unlimited samples throughout the event.

“We’re looking forward to bringing an event like this to Lawrence that our community and beyond can look forward to every year,” shared City of Lawrence Mayor Steve Collier. “Lawrence is a great city where residents live, work and play, and this event helps showcase the type of events residents and visitors to the city can enjoy.”

Live music, German-inspired food, games, raffles and more will also be available as part of the event, with some other German-themed surprises planned for the afternoon. True Oktoberfest-style décor and seating will also add authenticity to the event.

“Lawrence is an exciting city that’s going through some exciting changes right now,” noted Indiana On Tap Founder Justin Knepp. “We’re proud to partner with them to create and host a special event like this. We’ll definitely be bringing a little bit of Munich to Lawrence to help everyone celebrate,” he added.

Tickets to the event will be available as either VIP, General Admission or Designated Driver. VIP ticket buyers will be allowed into the event for the first hour from 3pm – 4pm (for a total of 4 hours), which grants them access to shorter lines and limited release beers.  Those with General Admission tickets will be allowed access into the event beginning at 4pm (for a total of 3 hours). Designated Drivers may enter the event at any time but will not be allowed to sample any of the alcohol. Water will be available for free with soft drinks available for purchase.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to a local charity of the city’s choice, which will be announced soon.
