Celebrate Circle City Beer week (and Other booze news you can use)

As if Circle City Beer Week and the Microbrewer’s Festival weren’t enough to satisfy your thirst, here are eight other booze-based events in July.

VOCAB:
One of Broad Ripple’s only spoken-word, live music and open-mic nights features local Indy talent and surprise visits from national acts. This 21-and-older event welcomes Januarie York, El Carnicero and Tony Jamm this month.

Angie’s List Block Party:
Whether you’re a member or not, celebrate the newly remodeled Indianapolis Angie’s List Magazine with fun for the entire family, including music from DJ Mike Graves and The Half Step Sisters, drinks from Outliers Brewing Co, food trucks, face painting and more.

Monon Mixer:
Head up north for an adults-only evening at the waterpark. If you’re 21 or older, relax to music from Island Vibe Duo while you enjoy beer and wine, along with treats from local vendors such as Sweet Jeanius, DaBlue Lagoon and Pat’s Philly Pretzels. Grab a cabana and make a splash for this child-free night.

RAW Natural Born Artists presents Communique:
This monthly multifaceted artistic showcase features everything from fashion to performance art (keep your head up to watch the aerial show) to music and classic art. This artistic circus of creativity features over 40 artists and musicians to enjoy.

Hoods and Hops:
This classic car show is all about cars, craft beer and community. Attracting more than 100 cars, attendees can vote on their favorite car while enjoying food and craft beers from Broad Ripple Brew Pub. Proceeds are donated to the BRVA.

2nd Annual Beer Cocktail Contest:
Contestants have submitted recipes that include one craft beer and one liquor to Girls Pint Out and you can join in the fun to sample and purchase these crazy concoctions and help vote for the best. The winner receives $100 and a featured cocktail at Mass Ave Pub for the remainder of July.

Rhinegeist Tap Takeover at La Margarita:
Join in the Circle City Beer Week festivities (and follow along online with the hashtag #HBGWeek) at La Margarita with Hoosier Beer Geek as we welcome Jim Matt, former assistant brewer at Sun King Brewery, back to Indy. He is currently brewing at Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati, but will be taking over the taps with brews such as Cougar, Truth, Uncle and Spike.

18th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival:
Your favorite Indiana breweries will be joined by a select group of guest breweries from around the country at Indiana’s largest craft beer event. With over 300 beer selections to choose from, this is a mandatory event for craft beer lovers.

Happy Hour Fridays:
Cheers to the weekend! Relax on Georgia Street with a glass of wine, your favorite cocktail or one of Harry & Izzy’s famous shrimp cocktail appetizers while the Cocktail Sax Jazz Band fills the air with music. Grab your co-workers and head to the boardwalk every Friday during the summer.
