Portage Brewfest & Taco Test

September 19 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Portage BrewFest & Taco Test will be on Saturday, September 19 at the Portage Lakefront Open Air Pavilion. The Pavilion is located south of the Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk and minutes from the South Shore train station.

Celebrate the region’s booming craft beer industry at this outdoor tasting event featuring local, regional, and national craft brews. Guests will sample over 65+ varieties of beer, wine, and ciders from 4p-7p.

Help crown the region’s Top Taco with taco test from 4p-7p! Participants will taste tacos from different vendors and vote for their favorite to be named the Top Taco!

This event will be held in the city’s Open Air Pavilion. Stay tuned for our opening music acts before Too White Crew hits the stage, pumping up the crowd from 7p-9p.

Our beer and tacos are on a mission!

Beer & tacos taste better when they’re for a good cause; so 100% (yes, every single penny) will benefit two of the city’s leading non-profits: the Portage Township YMCA and the Greater Portage Chamber of Commerce.

Commemorative cups available while supplies last.

How do we come to a BrewFest event in the era of COVID-19?

Great question!

Of course, nothing is guaranteed at this point and will be subject to change based on the status of our local and state directives, but under the current plan these are the guidelines:

  1. Tables will be spaced with plenty of room to allow for social distancing.
  2. Masks are recommended.
  3. Food will be served by our vendors or volunteers who will be taking the appropriate precautions in accordance with the current health department guidelines.
  4. Hand sanitizer will be required when you enter and exit the venue.
  5. Hand sanitizer will also be found in multiple, easily accessible locations.
  6. Drinks will be served by vendors or volunteers who will also be following the current guidelines offered by the health department, including insuring that the bottle or can does not touch the cup you are drinking from.
  7. The maximum number of people allowed to participate may change based on guidance from the State of Indiana.

Our hope is that you will come prepared to share some laughs, good food, try some great brews with your friends, but be willing to stay safe and protect those around you. Participants will be notified of any specific procedures we need to follow prior to the event.

In the event our state guidelines do not allow the event to happen on the specified day, we will reschedule.
