The first HopCat opened in January 2008 in Grand Rapids, MI. We’re making their anniversary a family affair and celebrating 9 years of HopCat on Saturday, January 21st. We’ll have FREE Crack Fries until 5pm (dine-in only, with any purchase. One per person.), a Crack Fries eating contest and will feature some killer brews.

Crack Fries Eating Contest
At 3pm, we’ll be hosting a Crack Fries eating contest. We’ll match your $5 entry fee and donate all proceeds to charity. Contestants must sign up in advance, either by email, by phone, or in person by 2:30pm on January 21st. To sign up, contact our General Manager, LJ Hunt, at lhunt@hopcat.com or by calling 317-565-4236.

Once the contest begins you’ll have sick minutes to eat as many Crack Fries, by weight, as you can. The 1st Place winner will receive a $500 HopCat gift card and the chance to compete for the grand prize – $2,000 and eternal glory as they’re pitted against the other HopCat locations’ winners in the Crack Fries Eating World Championship at the 2017 Michigan Summer Beer Festival.

The winner will be provided a travel voucher work up to $500.
Second place winner gets a $100 HopCat gift card.
Third place winner gets a $25 HopCat gift card.
